I am currently 3dp3dt and starting having lower back pain today. It is similar to what I typically get with AF but it is far to early for that. I am like you Ive been though many IVF attempts this is my 8th and I dont recall lower back pain at this stage usually I get it right before my AF arrives on test day.
Littlesttiger and Nix - I really hope you are right. DH is joking saying its the weight of the two embryos making my back curve a bit. Its simply just weird that backache would be a symptoms when the embryos are problably the size of a grain of rice.

Hi welcome to the board. You should find lots of support info here. Implantation typically takes place within 48 hours of a 5 day transfer.
Cramps are very normal. Try not to get discouraged if you think your period is coming. A lot of the signs can go either way.
Also the egg retrieval procedure and the later embryo transfer can cause slight cramping in the days immediately after. While mild to moderate cramping can be normal call your doctor if the cramping is not relieved by over-the-counter pain medications. In the days after your embryo transfer you may experience some lower abdominal pain or bloating following your embryo transfer.
If you do please be assured that it doesnt mean your treatment hasnt worked. Providing you feel well otherwise there is. Spotting in all cases with less quantities of blood than during menstruation- after the embryo transfer is normal and usually disappears in two or three days.
This is generally due to the tube passing through the cervix. If these symptoms occur there is no need to be afraid they are complete normal.
